One of Netflix’s soon-to-be released series, 3 Body Problem, is an adaptation of the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy of sci-fi novels written by Cixin Liu and translated into English by Ken Liu and Joel Martinsen. The Remembrance of Earth’s Past follows humanity through multiple time periods after they make contact with a hostile alien civilization that is on course to invade Earth in a few hundred years. The series is considered one of the best modern sci-fi stories, nabbing numerous accolades, including the Hugo Award, for its exploration of theoretical physics and other scientific concepts in an accessible and entertaining way.
